A multitude of weapons were flung towards Vice-Leader Felmina.
Thanks to my increased stats, my <Barrier>’s deflection skill has developed a ‘deflection’ ability that was able to launch weapons out of my space.
Faced with dozens of weapons racing towards her, Felmina extended her right hand and a disc of water materialised, it turned into a whirlpool in the air and sucked in all the incoming arsenal.
Woah, that’s an incredibly versatile use of water. Even though water did not seem like a flashy weapon, it could be used like this, huh? Well, since I had already anticipated a possible defensive manoeuvre from the opponent, it was time to use that attack.
“What do we do?! She’s blocking all of our attacks, Hakkon!”
No need to fret just yet, Ramis. We still have a trump card up our sleeves.
I had left something in the far right shelf untouched, just to see how she would react. It is now time to use it.
The thing that I had kept back was something I received from Hyurumi. While Ramis was in a dilemma, I threw that thing up. The water vortex swallowed the item and instantly turned into a frozen cone.
That’s right. It was the same thing that Ramis used to freeze the pool of water before punching a hole through Clearflow Lake into the Labyrinth.
“Eh, why would Sulrim…?”
Vice-Leader looked towards Sulrim the Snow Spirit, mistaking her for the culprit. With attention focused on something else, we have an opening.
I launched four 2-litre bottles of Coke from the far-left locker in a trajectory so that they flew to the frozen water vortex.
“Wait, Sulrim isn’t…hm?”
Vice-Leader Felmina noticed the flying bottles too late. I willed the plastic bottles out of existence, releasing their contents.
“Hah! I told you I can manipulate wa-ter?”
The transparent thing that fell over her was not water. Although it probably contained more water than other stuff, it was not enough water for her to freely manipulate it.
“This slimy liquid, you used this at the Beginner’s Floor.”
In the end, she was coated in lube. Which was shocking in many ways, but, ahem, although the end result appeared risque, that was not my true target.
“My, my wings…”
Wings, be they feathers or thin skin membranes, would be difficult to manipulate with the generous amount of lube on them. [1] Just think of those poor, oil-covered birds from an oil spill.
If she had been a true enemy, I would have thrown bottles of kerosene, followed by a lit match; however, I could not bring myself to do so.
After losing her ability to fly properly, Vice-Leader Felmina started to wobble in the air.
I reverted to my default Vending Machine state and launched a volley of bottles and cans at her. Even though she had trouble flying, Felmina still managed to manipulate water to knock down my airborne projectiles.
Finally, she landed, still coated in lube and glaring at me. “You may have caught me off guard, but you can’t break my-”
She collapsed suddenly. Behind her, Ramis smirked with an extended fist. She had been so angry at me that she had not noticed Ramis. Also, by coating her wings with lube, I had foiled her sensors too.
Ramis quickly tied her up with some special magic and Gift-suppressing ropes. That way, even if she did wake up, she would be powerless.
One down. Now, let’s check what’s going on with the others.
“Ugh, you’re so annoying!”
“What kind of fighting style is this?!”
The Red and White Twins continue to grumble even as they attack. Well, I can’t really blame them since all of their attacks were being blocked by two gigantic shields while the occasional arrows flew through, breaking their formations.
Sui and Pitee were fighting back-to-back with each other. With Shui repeatedly sniping the twins from behind Pitee’s shields.
Meanwhile, Hevoy was hanging around on the outside, his metal spiked ball suddenly burst forward on a chain to disrupt the twins’ attacks.
“I’m coming~” Ramis yelled.
The twins frowned as Ramis rushed over. They were already at an impasse against Hevoy, Pitee and Shui. If Ramis joins the fight, they basically have no chance of winning.
“Mom… so it looks like the Vice-Leader has been defeated?”
“We can’t do anything but buy time until Dad or Sulrim come and help us, White.”
“Well, Red, if we can’t defeat them. We just have to stay undefeated.”
Until this point, the twins had been on the offensive side, fiercely attacking Pitee’s group. Now, however, they started to just run around.
“Hey, hey, hey~ if you’re so frustrated, come and take us down~!”
“Hehehe~ don’t hide in your shell, come out and play~!”
They were shockingly adept at provoking people. However, this was no time to be impressed by such skills. From the way they dodged and feinted, it was clear that this was all very deliberate. Even Shui’s accuracy had fallen out of sheer frustration.
“If we could just distract them and stop their movements for a bit, I can take them down,” said Hevoy in an even voice.
He sounded calm, but I could sense that even he was starting to get upset.
“I don’t think I can hit them even if I try,” said Ramis.
Well, given their incredible speed, even Mishael would find it difficult to land a decisive blow. Still, I have a plan.
By the way, to anyone who thinks that spreading lube on the ground to seal their movement would be wrong. Because the ground here is similar to a sandy beach, therefore, any lube would only be absorbed into the sand, limiting its effectiveness.
That said, there is a way to stop them in their tracks.
“I see, an interesting approach. I’m sure it would be effective against those two,” said Hevoy.
“Eh? What did Hakkon do?”
Hevoy managed to understand the moment I changed my product line-up. The only reason Ramis hasn’t noticed yet is that she could not see the products from her position.
Anyway, I dropped one of the products into the dispenser and used <Telekinesis> to levitate it behind me.
“What’s that, Hakkon? I can’t see it!”
I have no intention of showing you.
When Ramis turned around to get a look, I quickly moved the item out of her line of sight.
“At-tack”
“Eh? You have an idea? What is it? Never mind, tell me later!”
I was never more thankful for Ramis’ absolute faith in me as she and Hevoy sprinted towards the twins.
The twins glanced at us and grinned. Ready to run off the moment we close the distance. I kept the magazine hidden behind me, having found the most… interesting picture within.
The moment we closed in, I thrust the magazine forward.
“What the- woahhhhhh!!!!”
“Wooohooo!!!”
The twins froze in their tracks, letting out screams of shock as their eyes fixed on the centrefold of an adult magazine.
Heh, don’t underestimate the impact of the perfect woman in a seductive pose. The twins stared in fascination at the highly edited image. Their finely honed senses were the only thing that rescued them from the shower of arrows and metal-spiked balls.
“Ugh, that’s too dangerous!”
The twins ducked and twisted away, narrowly avoiding our attacks.
“Oi oi, you don’t really think we’d fall for that!”
Tch, we almost had them. Looks like they were not complete fools despite their lustful nature… still, it’s not like the attack was completely useless, right?
Indeed, even though the twins managed to hop away, they lost their footing almost at once, Red nearly taking a spiked metal ball to the face while White twisted as though he was in a Matrix movie.
“That’s a… cheap move… Hakkon!” Red was trembling in place,
Still, calling it a cheap move is kind of unfair. It’s called a battle tactic, you know? A battle tactic.
“Hey, what happened to those two? They’re usually quite nimble,” said Ramis curiously.
“Yeah, it was kind of strange,” Shui had stuck her head out for a better look, not quite convinced that these two were not playing some sort of trick on them.
“Take a look on the ground around them,” said Hevoy.
The girls looked.
Scattered on the ground were the adult magazines. Rather, it was pieces of an adult magazine that had been taken apart, and its contents now exposed to all eyes.
Even though they were just pictures, the incredibly high-definition photos of gorgeous women with strategic close-ups were enough to make them hesitate in their steps. Defeated by porn mags, hehe.
“You are all terrible! Stupid twins! Stupid Hakkon!”
“Hakkon…”
Hm? Why are you two glaring at me? This is an awesome battle tactic, inspired even.
“It was a great strategy,” said Hevoy as he patted my back.
Geeze, I never thought I would see the day Hevoy taking pity on me would come.
[Gumihou: Hey, I think it’s a great plan]
