Eguchi: It’s a little short. The Royal Capital arc is finally coming to an (end). The Royal Capital arc ended up being long because there were too many things I wanted to include, hopefully, I can do things in moderation next time.

 

We stayed for a few more days in the Royal Capital.

As promised (or threatened), Fer and Grandpa Gon had nothing but piles and piles of plain sliced bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The next day, after they started crying during their bread and bread breakfast, I gave them normal food for lunch and dinner. I had already bought souvenirs for everyone in Carelina and was determined to enjoy my last days at the Royal Capital.

“Ahh~~ finally, we’re finally going back to Carelina…” Willem-san muttered, exhaustion plain on his face.

We were on a grassy field just outside the entrance to the Royal Capital. The people seeing us off were Bram the Guild Master as well as members of the [Iron Will] party.

“Thank you for your hard work,” I said politely to Bram-san, who squinted suspiciously at me.

For some reason, Willem-san did not look reassured at all. He nodded slowly, “I- I see… um, so, when are we leaving?”

“About now, I think? Grandpa Gon, let’s leave for Carelina now, please.”

“Umu,” said Grandpa Gon before transforming into his original huge, travel-worthy size. I should take the opportunity to say that I have already given proper notice to the Royal Capital Adventurer’s Guild about our travelling via GG Airways, so we’re good to go.

“S-somehow I had forgotten how we’re supposed to travel back,” Willem-san’s face twitched as he stared up at a ginormous Grandpa Gon.

“What are you talking about? Isn’t it obvious?” I asked. Did he block the memory from sheer trauma or something? “Didn’t you say you want to travel back to Carelina quickly?”

“Th-that’s right…”

“In that case, please get on board the dragon, Willem-san~”

“F-fine, hey! You don’t have to push me!”

“Please get on quickly,”

Willem-san was obviously reluctant, but he still managed to get on board eventually. I scrambled up with the rest of my familiars and waved back at the people on the ground. “Goodbye, everyone! See you again soon!”

“See you!”

“Let’s meet at the meat dungeon!”

“Till we meet again!”

“See ya!”

After a final round of goodbyes, I patted Grandpa Gon and said, “Let’s go.”

“Umu, I shall take off now.”

Then, with a thunderous flap of his wings, Grandpa Gon’s huge body left the ground. I waved at the people on the ground, and they waved back. Grandpa Gon kept rising into the air.

“Hiiiii!!!”

Ah, Willem-san had tucked his head into his knees and was screaming in fear…

Well, air travel is something that not everyone can get used to quickly. However, he was the fastest transport in existence, so your suffering shall be brief. We will reach Carelina within the day, most likely by evening at most.
