Chapter 009: Enter The Kingdom of Feenan
Re – Translated by Gumihou

Why is Gumihou wasting her time re-translating early chapters when she should focus on her time translating the latest chapters?
Someone comment about this earlier when she posted the first 8 chapters last year and Gumihou thought she should address this first.
Because I want to.
Because I want my reader to have a wonderful experience reading Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi.
Because it’s kind of weird to read something that equivalent to unedited draft which really doesn’t bring out the full potential of the story.
The re-translation would probably go on until Chapter 42.
Gumi only translate bits here and there in her, very scant, free time. It took me almost a year to translate 30 chapters since there’s no hurry because other translation exists.
Hope you enjoy it~~
We’re close to the Kingdom of Feenan now.
Close enough that we could see the fort-like walls of the kingdom. [1] Also, guards were swarming out of the gates for some reason.
I cast my eyes over the magnificent visage of Fer casually following us from behind us and sighed.
Haahh… so it really came down to this after all?
“Look, the soldiers!”
[3] Yes, yes, I see them.
“It’s because Fer-sama is with us. I shall go ahead and explain the situation to them first,” [2] Welner-san said before running ahead.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Welner-san met with the guards lining up rigidly before the fortress.
[3] One man, this one more decorated than the rest, stepped forward.
“I am Edgar Volgold, Captain of the Fourth Order of Knights for the Kingdom of Feenan. I have heard from Welner-dono that you have bound a Fenrir to you as a familiar. Is this true?”
What a long title, also, this guy might be an aristocrat considering that he has both first names and a surname but I could see that he’s clearly nervous. [1] He was not the only one, none of the lines of guards behind him had taken their hands off their weapons.
How should I put it, though this Fer guy might be a glutton, he’s still a legendary monster, huh.
“Yes, I have formed a contract with this Fenrir,” I said cautiously.
A chorus of ‘Oohhh’ came from the guards.
“I see. It is said that a legendary beast like Fenrir once destroyed a whole country. Can you guarantee that this demon beast would not harm our country or our people?”
Well, a very justifiable worry.
So, I decided to check with Fer, “Oi, Fer. Your reputation as a legendary beast is very powerful, everyone is worried that something might happen if they let you in. But Fer, you won’t do anything like that, right?”
“Nu, do not compare me with those foolish monsters. As long as no harm comes to my master, I shall not act.”
“Well, is this guarantee good enough? Captain-sama.” [4]
“So, you really do have a contract with a legendary beast, huh! I still can’t believe it…”
Neither can I Captain-sama! [1] I was minding my own business when it just happened you know?!
“However, from your interaction just now, I can tell that it’s true that the Fenrir is bound to you. Very well, I shall allow you entry to the Kingdom of Feenan. Be as it may, please make sure that your familiar, that your Fenrir behaves properly.”
“Yes, I understand. Oi, Fer, please behave properly, alright?”
“As I have said, as long as they do not harm us. I shall not act.”
“Really? Really? Please make sure to behave, alright? It’ll be my fault if anything happens, so make sure you mean it, alright?” I am not above begging.
“Don’t be annoying!”
“No, no, I need to make sure. Ah, that’s right, if you make trouble for others, remember this. No food for you!” I’m afraid, but I’m not above pressing my advantages either.
“Guu…” [4]
Fer looked unwilling, but he did promise to behave.
The Captain looked relieved, “I see. It certainly looked like you have the Fenrir tamed.”
“Captain,” [5] said Werner-san, “I believe there’s no need to worry. We were there when Mukouda-san signed the contract with Fer-sama. We travelled together to this place, but Fer-sama did not unnecessarily rampage without reason.”
“Exactly,” [5] was Rita’s excited reply. “Mukouda-san was even able to command Fer-sama to catch prey for us. It was very shocking!”
Ah, I was shocked too, Rita-san. I just randomly asked him to catch something for himself since he was going meat, meat, meat at me in a really annoying way… [4]
“Is that so? Well, it certainly looks like he could control it very well.”
Wait a second, what is that speculative ‘is that so’, huh? [4]
Somehow, we managed to safely gain entry into the kingdom after much fussing about. [1] Since I don’t have a guild card, I had to pay 5 silver coins as entry tax.
Not only that, familiars were taxed too, so Fer’s entry cost 2 silver coins. [1] My wallet! The pain!
Let’s hurry up and join the Merchant’s Guild.

The first town we would encounter was the border town Faliel.
That’s right, we might have gone past the kingdom gates, [3] but we haven’t reached Feenan Kingdom proper yet.
“Thanks to everyone I am able to reach this place safely. So, please accept my thanks one more time.”
In this country ruled by monsters and magic, it would be impossible to reach this place on my own. So I am very thankful to the [Iron Will] for escorting me. [1] Oh, and Fer as well, of course.
“No, no,” [5] said Werner-san. “Travelling with you has opened our eyes as well. Being able to see the real Legendary Beast Fenrir is something else, we even got to talk to him too!”
“Just as Leader says. This is a great story to tell, you know?” [5] Vincent laughed heartily.
“Me too, I’m going to tell everyone how I met the Great Fenrir from the fairy tales,” [2] Rita chimed in enthusiastically.
“Fufufu, Rita is still such a child. However, it’s true that meeting a Legendary Beast is something to brag about,” [5] said the calm and dignified Franca.
“To be able to see the Great Fenrir during my lifetime… This is what makes it worth being an Adventurer, na,” [5] said Ramon as he stroked his beard.
Looks like Fer really had a great impact on everyone…
“However, it looks like Mukouda-san might be getting busier from now on,” [5] said Werner-san thoughtfully.
[6] “Eh, what do you mean?”
“Someone who had tamed a Fenrir entered the country. So, of course, someone would have informed Margrave of Rindel. Once the marquis knows, it is only a matter of time before the news reaches the king as well.”
Ugh, as expected!
“Moreover, that captain looked like he was thinking of putting you into his report immediately.”
I knew it!
“Well, it’s just as well that I don’t plan on staying here long. If they come and speak to me, I will probably leave it to Fer to negotiate with them.”
“Hahaha, that’s right. With Fer-sama around you won’t have to worry about anything.”
I’ll have to rely on Fer. However, since part of the problem I’m facing now was because of him anyway, that’s fine, right?
Moreover, I’ve just transmigrated into a new world, so it makes sense to want to see more of it. [1] Even before Fer came into my life, I already have plans to make money as a travelling merchant.
The [Net Super] is going to be the key.
“If you’re not planning to stay… where do you plan to go?”
“I’m thinking about travelling to different places, actually. I’d like to be a travelling merchant and see the rest of the world.”
“Is that so? Then, I’d advise Mukouda-san to register with the Adventurer’s Guild.”
“The Adventurer’s Guild? But why? I already plan to register with the Merchant’s Guild. I’m a fairly good cook and I’d like to set up little stalls in each city and sell some products, that’s all. Surely that has nothing to do with Adventuring?”
“True, however…” Werner-san gave Fer a considering look before continuing. “Mukouda-san, you’ll be letting Fer-sama hunt for his own food, right?”
I nodded.
“Could you dismantle the prey on your own?”
“Ah!”
“That Rockbird that Fer-sama brought in last time is a high ranking monster. Aside from meat, there are valuable monster parts that could be sold for money,” finished Werner-san.
Everything Werner-san said has merit, but still-
“I’m not sure…”
“Mukouda-san, if you’re still unsure, why don’t just register with both?” Vincent suggested. [4]
“Oh? Is that allowed?”
“It’s uncommon, but it’s not like it’s never been done before. There are some really amazing wandering merchants who hunt their own ingredients who joined both the Adventurer and Merchant’s Guild.”
“Heh… if that’s the case, then I’ll register for both.” [5]
[Gumihou: Author-san has a very unique way of writing. Please believe that the things I’ve deleted are for the reader’s own good.]

Eg:
“He–, is that so. Then, I will register on both”
I decided to register in both the adventurer’s guild and the merchant’s guild.

Thank you for your hard work! 💕
So far novel seems more of a summary than novel
I traveled to this new land didn’t like it so I left
I hired some people for protection and gained new ability
This was outcome of ability
I’ll do this next and then this
And this is what happened
I responded to what happened by doing this and that is the result
I gained some wealth from doing this
Spent that wealth doing that
It really makes it boring read some more novels them edit chapters to add depth
Well, I can’t say you’re wrong…
Thanks for the treat.
The chapters are out of order so I have to return to the table of contents and search for the following chapter :-/
Well, re-translation is good and all, but check this – https://file.io/Dnyb4krfmSm3. If you like it, i can add a little bit more later.
