皮蛋豆腐 – Century Egg Tofu

Century Egg Tofu – 皮蛋豆腐

 – ( dàn dòu fu)



Makes 1 dish



Soft Tofu

2 packets

Century Egg




Minced Ginger & Garlic

To taste

Dried shrimp

To taste


To taste


1 stalk

Small Chilli

To taste

Light Soy Sauce

To taste



Method (The numbers are according to the pictures in the original site):


  1. First, slice the tofu into desired shape, and place it on a plate


  1. Cut the century egg into small pieces and place them on the tofu


  1. Heat up a pot over a small fire., once the oil heated up stir fry the ginger, garlic, and shrimp


  1. Steam the plate of tofu and century egg until the tofu is heated through. Meanwhile, mix the rest of the ingredients together in a small bowl


  1. Once the tofu is done steaming, remove from the steamer and pour the sauce over the dish and serve immediately


[Tip: You may decorate the dish with fresh coriander or deep fried ginger strands or deep fried onions for added visual and texture deliciousness]
